Car Washing 101
Want to wash your car like a pro, or even get your vechile as shiny as your husband's? I was always annoyed that after I spent a lot of time washing and cleaning my van, my husband would tell me that you've missed that spot or this spot, or it's not as shiny as it could be.....So I got him to show me how to do a good professional job and have your vechile look fantastic.
Tools:
Good car wash fluid. 2 detailing cloths. Armoral Bucket Sponge
1. Always clean your vechile when it is in the shade. It makes it a lot less work, won't leave streaks and you will beable to achieve a great shine.
2. Use the recommended amount of car wash fluid to water.
3. Spray rinse your vechile to get any excess dirt off.
4. Start on one section at a time and clean from the top down. go in a left to right direction, from top to bottom.
5. Spray clean right away and keep the section wet. As you are cleaning the rest of the vechile go back and give the clean area a quick spray to keep it wet.
6. Clean the whole vechile in this way.
7. Check that you have not missed any spots.
8. Take one of the detailing cloths and wipe off the excess water. Wring dry as it gets wet. I do one side of my van first.
9. Then take the second cloth and wipe again. Always wipe from left to right, top to bottom. This ensures that you have no streaks.
10. Clean the windows in this manner too.
11. You will find that you have a nice smooth finish to your vechile.
12. Over the summer months, use a car wax once a month and this will bring out the shine even more. With waxes again make sure you apply this when it is cool, so it is easy to put on and remove.
13. Use armoral on the inside of the car and on the inside of the tire walls to keep them black and shiny.
14. Always wash the rims last and they tend to be more dirty and you do not want to be putting dirt back onto the body.
15. It is best to use warm soapy water with a soft cloth to clean windows, as it will not remove any tint that might have been applied.
Following these simple tips gives your car a show room like finish.
